About

It is the personal experience of reading, time, and travel that inform the content of this blog.  Objectivity is missing.

The world is a big place, full of cultural, political, demographic, and geographic differences.  However, what can be seen and experienced in countries visited is a human wish for happiness.

Difficulties arise among nations from excesses of a human desire for money, power, or prestige.  The irony is that happiness does not come from these excesses.  Happiness comes from what Aristotle called the golden mean, enough wealth to not want, enough power to sustain life, enough self-understanding to eschew prestige.

The world is a plentiful place.  Proper management of its resources offers an opportunity for world comity and human happiness.

Respectfully,

Chet Yarbrough
